Getting ahead of the curve, I’m writing and posting the blog days early instead of days late like last weekend.  I’m sure by now, you have all heard that the league is not splitting into two divisions after the 18 th  week, instead, we play through until Week 26.  After Week 26, we will go straight into the Team Round Robin – nine teams playing against each other – should be a blast!  Then the four weeks of multi-tournament nights before the AGM and the final big bash of the

After a three week break to celebrate Christmas, the league reconvened on the first Tuesday of the new year.  Playing at the Eagles Hall, the Eagles Hall Double Eagles hosted the Deep Bay Consulting Oceanside Triples to a rousing match of darts.  The home team stumbled in the doubles matches, only winning one of three, before establishing a foot-hold against their opponents.  Dominating in four of the first five singles sets, a last-minute push by the Triples put them over th

Playing the final week before we break for Christmas holidays, the Darts of Hazzards handed the Eagles Hall Double Eagles their flights at the Eagles Hall on Tuesday night.  Not playing well in the doubles, the Darts of Hazzard, had an immediate reversal as soon as they began playing the singles.  It took nine singles games before Double Eagle, Karen Bannister, snared the first point for her team.   Two whitewash sets and two four-to-one sets by the Darts of Hazzard guarantee

A huge thank you to all 22 players who pre-registered, paid $10 each to play darts at the Parksville Legion Saturday afternoon.  With 11 blind draw teams, a crazy dart board – 11 at the top, not 20, a turkey shoot, and 50/50 draw, it was a fun way to spend a rainy Saturday.  Winning nine of ten matches, Pony Moore and partner, teammate Glen Dilworth, won themselves a turkey each.  Thom Ford and partner Rob Shaw came in second, winning a ham for their 8 win effort.  Playing of

Before I proceed with the weekly dart news, I just want to remind everyone reading that the Christmas Fun Turkey Shoot is next Saturday - December 20th - at the Parksville Legion. Pre-registration is required to fill only 24 spots, with final registration at the venue by 12:45 so games can commence at 1pm sharp. This league member only shoot is a combination of the Turkey Shoot and the Fun Shoot normally held the first Tuesday of the new year and will be our last event of 2

Playing at the Eagles Hall, the Eagles Hall X-Men hosted the His & Hers Salon Darts of Hazzard to a nail-biting match of darts.  Starting off the match winning two of three games of doubles, the Darts of Hazzard continued to dominate the first two singles sets before the X-Men produced a whitewash in the third set.  The ensuing wins volleyed back and forth between the two teams, until they were tied at 14 wins each at the start of the final set of the night.  The final match

As the season shifts back to its normal one night a week schedule, we thank the Eagles one final time for the use of their venue on an additional night each of the last eight weeks.  First looks at the Parksville Legion appear very much the same, however, walking into the dart area/hall shows the magnificent new flooring, subtle shades of blue gray and sand.  Temporary toe-lines were in place, with the laser-generated markings on the floor still showing.  Play well in this re
