Week 7 Dart Highlights

As we head into the final week of the first half of Round One, a couple of teams were on a bye this week. This was necessary to balance out the schedule following the DartMares’ departure a few weeks ago, and the same arrangement will apply next week.
The biggest challenge in reworking the schedule was finding a spot for one final game in the eight-week revamp. Fortunately, the teams involved have graciously agreed to play on an off-night, allowing the second half of Round One to get underway on November 3rd rather than leaving six teams sitting out on a bye. A big thank-you to both teams for helping make it work!
On a happier note, we have some good news for two former DartMares! Magi Trenholm has joined the Bristle Bashers, while Darcy Guenette has signed on with the Darts of Hazzard. Congratulations to both of you on finding new teams and getting back into the action after your former team folded three weeks ago. Welcome aboard!
Now, on to this week’s dart highlights…

Playing at Eagles Hall, the AMC Straight Arrows faced off against the Legion Bristle Bashers in a fiercely contested match of darts. Set wins ping-ponged back and forth throughout the evening, with the Bristle Bashers striking first by taking the doubles set. The Straight Arrows responded by claiming the next two singles sets, only to have the Bashers answer back by taking the following two.
Leading the charge for the Straight Arrows was Captain Rob Clark, who went a perfect five-for-five in singles. The rest of the team chipped in with three wins apiece, helping the Arrows pull ahead in the final set to secure the match victory in both game points and set points.
Arrow Roy Neill topped the scoring with a blistering 140, knocking teammates Poul Reimer’s earlier scores of 132 and 134 off the top spot. Meanwhile, the Bristle Bashers had a three-way tie for most wins, with Ken Hayes, Larry Fuller, and Randy Laroche each contributing three wins in five singles matches.
Bashers’ Rob Deal also made his mark with an impressive 160, earning fourth spot on the Leader Board’s Men’s High Score list.
When the dust settled, the home-team Straight Arrows emerged victorious with an 8–6 win in set points!
