As we roll into the eighth week of play, the next seven week schedule was distributed to all members of the league.  The annual Turkey Shoot will be held after the final match on December 15th.  Stay tuned for details.

Now on to the matches played on Tuesday night.

A last-minute change of venue saw the Deep Bay Consulting Oceanside Triples welcome the Rotor Maxx Renegades to Eagles Hall, allowing the second half of Round One to proceed smoothly. A big thank-you to both teams for pivoting so graciously and making the switch work!

The Renegades quickly demonstrated that it doesn't matter where they play – they mean business! Taking an early lead, they never looked back, delivering a commanding performance and a 14–0 set-point victory.

Two Renegades were particularly unstoppable, with Lee Page and Terry Strawson each besting all five Oceanside Triples opponents they faced.

Lee was undoubtedly the star of the night! Both Lee and Terry found the 140 mark, but Lee took things to another level. His standout performance included a spectacular 14-darter against Oceanside's Denise Tabler, featuring scores of 100, 121 and one of the two 140s he recorded during the evening. That's some serious TV darts quality – way to go, Lee!

On the Oceanside side, Captain Jim Hood led the charge, defeating three of his six opponents to earn top honours for his team.

Teammate Mike Blouin may not have managed a win on the night, but he certainly made his presence felt! Mike fired in a match-high 134 against Lee, only to have his efforts overshadowed by Lee's sensational 108 checkout – a finish worthy of a spot near the top of the Leader Board!

Congratulations to the Renegades on a dominant performance, and hats off to Oceanside for keeping the competition lively. There's always another match around the corner!

Final score Deep Bay Consulting Oceanside Triples – 7, Rotor Max Renegades – 26

Also taking to the oche at Eagles Hall, the AMC Straight Arrows hosted the Eagles Hall X-Men for a closely contested night of darts that kept things interesting right to the finish!

The home-team Arrows came flying out of the gate, claiming the first two sets and looking strong early on. But the X-Men weren't about to let them run away with it! Rallying back, they captured four of the remaining five sets to turn the tables and secure the match.

Leading the charge for the Arrows was Mike Beno, who enjoyed a perfect night, going undefeated in all five of his turns at the toe-line. Mike also posted impressive high scores of 114 and 121 – a great performance!

Captain Rob Clark and teammate Alem Beyene-Clark each contributed four wins to the Arrows' tally, with Alem adding a spectacular 140 to lead his team's scoring for the match.

For the X-Men, Rob Sparrow led the way in the wins department, falling only to Mike Beno in his six appearances at the oche. Captain Todd Burnham also had reason to celebrate, earning himself a spot on the Leader Board with a fantastic 171! That puts Todd in a tie for second place alongside George Wallis, just behind Ken Hayes and his list-topping 174.

Despite the Straight Arrows claiming more individual games, it was the all-important set points that made the difference. The X-Men came out on top with a narrow 8–6 victory!

A great example of how every set counts – and proof that in darts, winning the most games doesn't always mean winning the match. Well played, both teams!

Final score AMC Straight Arrows – 17, Eagles Hall X-Men – 16

The third match of the night took place at the Parksville Legion, where the Legion Bristle Bashers welcomed the Legion Remark-A-Bulls for another closely fought Round One showdown.

The home-team Bashers got things started on the right foot, claiming the doubles set. But the Remark-A-Bulls weren't about to roll over! The visitors came roaring back, capturing the first three singles sets and putting the Bashers on the back foot.

Time for a regroup! The Bashers found their rhythm and turned the tables, winning the final three sets to surge back into the lead and secure the match. What a comeback!

Leading the charge for the Bashers was Ken Hayes, who topped the team's wins with an impressive four victories in his five singles games. Teammate Larry Fuller brought plenty of firepower to the oche, posting scores of 118, 124, 133 and 138 on his way to three wins in five games – a terrific scoring night!

There was also a special milestone for Ember Hayes, who earned her first Leader Board appearance of the season with a fantastic 84 checkout against Remark-A-Bulls' Michelle Gummeson. Congratulations, Ember!

The Remark-A-Bulls had plenty of strong performances of their own. Leading the team's wins was a three-way tie between Captain Harry Ross, Tom Ayley and Anita Hopps, each contributing three victories to the team total.

Tom had a particularly impressive night against Ken Hayes, landing scores of 123 and 133 to get the better of his opponent. However, it was Joe Fortune who claimed top scoring honours for the Remark-A-Bulls with a mighty 140!

When the dust settled, it was the all-important set points that made the difference, giving the Legion Bristle Bashers an 8–6 victory.

Three matches, plenty of big scores, a new Leader Board entry and another comeback story! That's what makes league night darts so much fun. Well played, everyone!

Final score Parksville Legion Bristle Bashers – 18, PV Legion Remark-A-Bulls – 15
