The Parksville Legion accommodated two of their sponsored teams, the home-team Short Sighted Crew and the away-team Remark-A-Bulls.  Taking the lead early by winning the doubles set and the first singles set, the Crew kept up the pressure on their opponents throughout the match.  Crew-member Jeff Rhode won all five singles games to top the wins for the team, while getting solid support from Captain Peter Bisiker and his four wins.  Peter also topped the scores hitting a 117 and a 121.  Donna Ermantrout landed a 67 check out, good but not enough to get her on the Leader Board, next time Donna!  There were seven Remark-A-Bulls spreading their 13 wins across the team, with Joe Fortune garnering the most wins at 3 in 4 games, one of which ended in a 72 check out.  Team mates Tom Ayley and Anita Hopps added two wins each to the nights’ total.  Newcomer Michelle White landed a 140 in her match against Crew’s Ken Ermantrout to earn team high score for the night. Set points resulted in 8 – 6 for the Parksville Legion Short Sighted Crew.

Final score Parksville Legion Short Sighted Crew – 20, Legion Remark-A-Bulls – 13

Over at the Eagles, the Darts of Hazzard hosted the Deep Bay Consulting Oceanside Triples to a closely matched game of darts.  The Triples won the first set and hung on to the lead until the last two sets, when the Hazzards had a surge of wins. Leading the wins for the Triples, Captain Jim Hood lost only to Hazzard’s Heath Mahoney in his six turns at the toe-line.  He also landed the high score of 140 and an 86 check out in his match against Brody Jenkinson.  It was a three-way tie for most wins between Hazzard’s captain Heath Mahoney, Hendrik Van Heerwaarden and Brody Jenkinson, all bringing four wins in five singles to the total score.  Hendrik also landed the high score of the night, hitting a 126 in his winning match against Triple Darren Tabler.  Set points resulted in 8 – 6 for the Darts of Hazzard.

Final score Eagles Hall Darts of Hazzard – 16, Deep Bay Consulting Oceanside Triples – 17

The Legion also provided the Rotor Maxx Renegades a place to play against the Eagles Hall X-Men.  The Renegades delivered a set point whitewash to the X-Men by winning all seven sets, not much the X-Men could do about it.  Glen Dilworth put up a fight and won three of his five matches, while Rob Sparrow hit scores of 122 and 133 to earn team high score for the night.  Renegades Thom Ford and Lee Page were undefeated in all five singles games while Larry MacDonald garnered the team high score of 140.  Set points resulted in 14 – 0 for the Renegades.

Final score Rotor Maxx Renegades – 25, Eagles Hall X-Men – 8

The Eagles Hall was the scene of the third instance (so far) of a team losing a match despite winning more games.  The Eagles Hall Magi’s DartMares hosted the Legion Bristle Bashers and it was a close match to the end.   Taking all three doubles games, the DartMares showed an impressive start to the game.  The match was tied 16-16 as the final game commenced between two league newcomers, DartMare’s Millie Halliday and Bristle Basher’s Randy LaRoche.  Millie doubled out before her opponent, bringing their wins to 17.  Captain Magi Trenholm led the DartMare’s in wins with four successes in six turns at the oche, one ending with a 69 check out.  Darcy Guenette and Donna Christie added three points each to the total. Darcy pinned a 123 to earn team high score.  Bristle Basher Larry Fuller was undefeated in five singles games and team mate Ken Hayes brought four wins in five games, while hitting a 140 for team high score.   Set points resulted in 8 – 6 for the Legion Bristle Bashers.

Final score Eagles Hall Magi’s DartMares – 17, Legion Bristle Bashers – 16
