Two Eagles teams got together at their home venue to play a rousing night of darts. Playing home, the Double Eagles gave their opponents a run for their money but the Men weren’t having any of their guff. Leading the wins for the Double Eagles, Colleen McNeill dealt a double out to four of her six opponents. Karen Bannister was a prolific scorer throughout the night, hitting 112 twice. The X‑Men welcomed back a former player, Duane Sharp, to bring their ranks this season to seven. Leading the team in wins again this week, Jim Thompson, left the match undefeated; and Pony Moore pinned a 140 to achieve high score for the night.

Playing at their new home venue for the first time this season, the Parksville Legion Dart Legends greeted their competition, the Bristle Bashers, with cheerful enthusiasm all the while knowing a dart massacre was about to happen. True to their expectations, the Legends were bested in almost every match, but made the Bashers work for every single point they achieved. Leading the wins for the Legends was a five-way tie of a single win for each player. Legend Dave Edwards topped the team scores with a 116. Four out of six Bashers were undefeated at the end of the match, and Terry Strawson topped the scores with 123, 121 and 100x4.

Filling up the boards at the Eagles Hall, the Eagles Hall Eagle Eyes hosted the QB Legion Short Sighted Crew to a raucous evening of darts. The Crew took two of the three singles and allowed only one Eagle Eye to best them in the first set, before the Eye’s found their wings and kept the pressure on the Crew for the rest of the match. Leading the wins for the Crew, Peter Bisiker doubled out before all but the captain of the opposition. Leading the wins for the Eagle Eyes was a tie between Captain Harry Van Heerwaarden and John Coulter, both taking four wins in five singles. Babes Coulter brought her newbie enthusiasm to the match and achieved the top score for the team with a 129.

Occupying the first two boards at the Parksville Legion, the PV Legion Respect-A-Bulls welcomed the Morningstar Triples to a fiercely-fought match of darts. Starting the night by taking all three doubles, the Morningstar Triples took the lead and pushed through the first set four to one before the Respect-A-Bulls rallied and fought back. Leading the wins for Triples, Dynamo Denise Tabler and Jim Hood tied, with four wins each. Denise fired in a 133 early in the night to capture the top score for the team. Captain Anita Hopps and newcomer, Rob Shaw, topped the wins for the team with four in six singles. Joe Fortune was most prolific high scorer, but it was Zachary Taylor who ended the night with the team high score of 140.

Playing at the QB Legion, the QB Legion Shooters had all five boards to share with the Eagles Hall Straight Arrows for a fun face-paced night of darts. Dominating all but one singles set, the last season league champions showed their prowess and doubled out twice as many games as their opponents. Leading the wins for the Shooters, Captain Lorraine Paquette proved unbeatable in five matches and leapt on to the Leader Board with an 84 check out. Teammate Thom Ford placed himself atop the Men’s High Out scores with a whopping 132 checkout in his final match of the night. Straight Arrow Mike Beno also reigned undefeated in his five matches too. One has to wonder if he and Lorraine had faced each other at the oche, who would have been the winner, maybe next match we will find out. Poul Reimer proved his mettle with a team high score of 135.
