The Qualicum Beach Legion B-Sharps hosted the Eagles Hall Eagle Eyes at the Eagles Hall while they wait for the Qualicum Beach Legion to be restored after their flood in October. Fun was had by all, however, three legs of 4-1 wins for the Eagle Eyes resulted in a runaway victory for the seven-member away team. High scorer for the Eagle Eyes was tied by Captain Mike and Harry Van Heerwaarden – both hitting a 140. Dan Moffatt lead the score for the B-Sharps with three wins in five matches. Twelve men gathered at the Parksville Legion to play some very competitive dart matches. Scores of 100 and over started early in the night and peppered scores right through to the end, but it was the doubling out that won the match for the Qualicum Beach Legion Short Sighted Crew over the Comfort Group X-Men. Leading the scores for the away team, Short Sighted Crew’s Ernie Berrow and Don Punter both took four of their five matches. High Scorer, Lee Page, shot a 140 and 100x2. Leading the home team, X-Men Captain Pony Moore won four of his five matches and scores of 133, 110. X-Man Dave Wishlow achieved high score with two 140’s and 100x2.

Also playing at the Parksville Legion, the Legion Shooters welcomed the Qualicum Beach Legion Bulls Hitters to a night at the oche. Starting off strong, and staying focussed throughout the score sheet confusion and sudden departure of an opponent, the home team took 24 wins from the Bulls Hitters. Leading the wins for the Shooters, Thom Ford topped the charts with four wins in four matches, one win with a 90 check-out, which ties him for 2nd on the Leaderboard. Right behind him, Larry MacDonald also had four wins in five matches, as well as team high score of 133 and 100x4. Despite team drama, Bulls Hitter Bernie Brockway and Ray Jones managed to score three wins each in their six singles matches. Ray pulled double duty as team high scorer as well, shooting a 132.

The Bristle Bashers dominated the scores well into the 2nd set of singles, with the Straight Arrows keeping up the pressure until the final set when the Bashers took all five games – final score Cascadia Bristle Bashers 24 and Straight Arrows 9. Leading the wins for the Bashers, the league’s top player, Steve Collins was unbeatable, followed by four wins each from team mates Noella Ross and Warren Potter. High scorer was Dustin Fee with a 140. The Arrows played well, most winning two matches each. High scorer was spare Mike Beno, who scored a 135 and a 114 in a single game to win over Dustin Fee.
