Welcome to the 2024-2025 season of darts!
With the AGM held so late in the year, the new executive barely had time to get acquainted before the Captains Meeting on September 17th. Nine team captains showed up to receive their season packages and make themselves familiar with the rules and regulations and chalking etiquette. There are lots of new players this season, bolstering the ranks of three teams, as well as the return of Ken Hayes after a seven-year hiatus. Welcome to all the new and returning players. Hope we have a fun season!
As a last minute add, Toni Crompton pulled together six players to form the Eagles Hall Double Eagles and become the tenth team for this season. No byes for anyone this year, yay!

September is always a tricky time to start darts because so many retirees are still in holiday mode. This fact prompted the postponing the first match of the season between the Parksville Dart Legends and the Parksville Legion Respect-A-Bulls. Stay tuned for an update on this match.

Playing at their joint home venue, the Eagle Eyes hosted the X-Men at the Eagles Hall. Harry has incorporated five new players on his team this year, so it was akin to watching fawns take their first wobbly steps, lots of great effort by each player with limited success. The seasoned X-Men, with the addition of Jim Thompson, just galloped ahead with each match. Leading the wins for the X-Men was a four-way tie between Jim, Pony Moore, Fraser Vincent and Glen Dilworth, all achieving four wins in five matches. Glen topped the team scores with a 140 and jumpstarted the Leader Board with a high out of 92. Way to go Glen! Eagle Eye’s Captain, Harry Van Heerwaarden, and newcomer, Heath Mahoney, led the team with four wins each and Harry topped the team scores with a 125 in the final match of the night.
Final score Eagle Eyes 10 – X-Men 23
