Week One Round Two


Plowing ahead of the snow, Tuesday night was the first week of the Round 2 Division. Meeting at the Parksville Legion, the Cascadia Bristle Bashers hosted the Eagles Hall Eagle Eyes to two-and-a-half hours of darting drama. Leading the wins after the doubles, the night was evenly matched until the mid-way point, when the Eagle Eyes inched over the finish line. Leading the wins for the Eagle Eyes, Richard Rempel was undefeated in five of his six singles, with support from Captain Jolene Swanson, who brought her four wins to the total score. Sue Barry doubled out against three of the Bashers, most notably Steve Collins and Terry Strawson. Tedd Ducker topped the scores for the Eagle Eyes, hitting 100’s, 120 and 122. Leading the wins for the Bristle Bashers, Terry Strawson bested four of his five opponents. Basher Don Enockson joined Terry with a high score of 140. Warren Potter pinned a 130, 133, & 135.

Final score Cascadia Bristle Bashers 15 – Eagles Hall Eagle Eyes 18.

Playing at the Eagles Hall, the Eagles Hall Straight Arrows joined the Eagles Hall X-Men for thirty three games of darts. Volleying back and forth for top position, both teams were neck and neck up to the sixth set, when the Arrows forged ahead of the X-Men. Leading the wins for the Arrows, Poul Reimer, Ron Keast and Mike Beno all took four wins in their five singles. Poul was on fire Tuesday night, hitting scores of 100, 121, 134 and 171! Nice darts Poul. Bringing the wins for the X-Men, Glenn Dillworth was unstoppable in four of his five matches. Glenn topped the points with 117, 133x3 – nice darts!

Final score Eagles Hall Straight Arrows 18 – Eagles Hall X-Men 15.

Qualicum Beach Legion Bulls Hitters welcomed the Parksville Legion Shooters to the QB Legion for a night of darts. Leading the wins from the get-go, the Shooters kept up the pressure right through to the end of the night. Shooters Larry MacDonald, Thom Ford and spare Lee Page won all but one of their five matches. High score was a 153 shot by Thom Ford. The Bulls Hitters’ Ryan Fortune doubled out five times in six matches and hit 140x2 to garner top score for the Hitters.

Final score Qualicum Beach Legion Bulls Hitters 11 – Parksville Legion Shooters 22.

Also playing at the Eagles Hall, the Toolshed Triples hosted the Parksville Legion B-Sharps to a well-fought battle of darts. Leading the wins for the B-Sharps, Andy Burton, scooped five wins in six, followed by four wins each from Arless McNeill and Stan Foster. Neil Selinger topped the scores for the Triples, hitting a 121. Triples’ Jim Hood and Keith Reimer brought four wins a piece to the team total for the night. Jim Hood shot a 102, 114, and 137 to achieve high score for the Triples.

Final score Toolshed Triples 14 - Parksville Legion B-Sharps 19.
