Playing at the Parksville Legion, the Deep Bay Consulting Oceanside Triples hosted the Eagles Hall Straight Arrows for 33 games of darts. Leading after the set of doubles, the Straight Arrows continued their winning streak for the next three singles sets, before the Triples gained some ground, winning four of the five singles in the fifth set. This was a short-lived domination as the Straight Arrows finished off the last two sets with 8 wins in 10 matches. Leading the wins for the Arrows, Rob Clarke was undefeated in all five of his matches and topped the team scores with a 100x2 and a 140. Triple’s team captain, Jim Hood, led the wins with three wins in six matches, while team mate, Keith Reimer, pinned the team high score of 117 in his winning match against opponent, Ron Keast.
Final score Deep Bay Consulting Oceanside Triples – 11, Eagles Hall Straight Arrows – 22

Playing at the Eagles Hall, the Eagles Hall Double Eagles welcomed The Bashers to a closely fought night of darts. Wins were ping-ponging back and forth between the two teams, but a whitewash in the fifth singles set, pushed the Bashers into a definitive lead over the Double Eagles. Leading the wins for the Bashers, Tom Ayley best five of his six opponents, losing only to Sue Barry. Basher’s Harry Ross landed himself on the Leader Board this week with a 171, putting himself in top three for Men’s High Score for the season. Double Eagle’s Alan Barry led the wins for the team, losing only to Tom Ayley in his five trips to the oche. Sue Barry topped the scores with a 131 landed in her winning match against Basher Joe Fortune.
Final score Eagles Hall Double Eagles – 14, The Bashers – 19

Graciously agreeing to play out of the Eagles Hall after a backwards scheduled home game put three matches in the Legion this week, the French Creek Pub Dart Vaders met with the His & Hers Salon’s Darts of Hazzard for thirty-three games of slinging arrows. Taking the lead early, the home team Vaders won all three of the doubles matches, before being bested in three of the first four singles sets by the Darts of Hazzard. A final push in the last two sets by the Vaders, who won four of five singles in both sets, put them well ahead of their opponents by the end of the night. During the final set, jaws dropped in awe as Vader Steve Collins faced Hazzard’s Heath Mahoney. High scores abounded, Steve got a 131 and Heath pinned a 123 and a 130 (team high score), but it was Steve Collins who won the race to the double, winning his fourth games in five trips to the toe-line. Late season replacement, Warren Potter, joined the Vaders after Ken Hayes realized he would not be able to complete the season after securing night-shift employment and had to bow out. Welcome back Warren! Warren proved his worth by matching Steve Collins for wins. Captain Dave Edwards hit a 134 to top the team scores for the evening. Darts of Hazzard’s Brody Jenkinson was undefeated in all four matches, which he followed the next night by winning all five singles in the make up game from the previous week. That’s a run of nine wins and no losses, nice darts Brody!
Final score French Creek Pub Dart Vaders – 20, His & Hers Salon Darts of Hazzard – 13

Also playing at the Parksville Legion, the Parksville Legion Short Sighted Crew joined the Roto Maxx Renegades at the toe-line for a overwhelming defeat of the home team. Despite their best efforts, the home team couldn’t gain many points against their formidable opponents. Starting the singles set off with a whitewash, the Renegades kept up their relentless pressure throughout the match, winning all seven sets. Leading the wins for the Renegades, Larry MacDonald and Terry Strawson left the Legion undefeated at the end of the night. Terry topped the Renegade’s scores with 100x2 and 140x2. The Short Sighted Crew’s Peter Bisiker and spare, Carolyn Hawryluk, brought two wins each to the team’s final score.
Final score Parksville Legion Short Sighted Crew – 7, Roto Maxx Renegades – 26
