After windy weather and an area wide power outage November 19th, week nine play commenced the following Tuesday.
Getting together at the Qualicum Beach Legion, the Morningstar Triples hosted the Eagles Hall Double Eagles to a fun evening of darts. The Double Eagles got off to a good start, leading after the first two singles sets, the Triples found their groove and regained some ground by he sixth singles set, and coasted through to the final match ultimately victorious. Leading the wins for the Triples, was a tie between Jim Hood and the fresh from vacation, Keith Reimer, both winning four of their five singles. Keith topped the scoreboard wit a 120. Double Eagle Pat Bannister topped the scores for his team, winning four of his five matches. Team mate Sue Barry flew to the number two spot for Women’s High Score on the Leader Board with an amazing score of 165, well done Sue!

Playing at the Parksville Legion, the Bristle Bashers welcomed the QB Legion Short Sighted Crew to thirty-three trips to the oche. The top team this season dominated all but one of the six singles sets, which they started off by winning two of the doubles matches. Leading the wins for the Bashers, Ken Hayes and Steve Collins were both undefeated in all five of their singles matches. Steve also topped the scores for the night with a 125 in his final match of the evening. Captain of the Crew, Don Punter pulled out his best moves and bested four of the Bashers by the end of the night. Don also topped the scores for the team with a 123 in his winning match against Mike Driscoll.

Over at the Eagles Hall, the Eagle Eyes greeted the Parksville Legion Dart Legends with lively enthusiasm. This eagerness waned as they played late into the evening with some extended length double one marathons. Leading the wins for the Eagle Eyes, John Coulter and Heath Mahoney both bested five of their Legendary opponents. Heath also topped the scoreboard with a 125 and a 100 in the same game. Three Legends lead the wins for their team, Kevin Gillingham, Ken Ermantrout and Donna Ermantrout, all pinned the double first in three of their six matches. Dart Legend Dave Edwards topped the team scores with a 117.

Filling up the other boards at the Parksville Legion, the PV Legion Respect-A-Bulls hosted the Eagles Hall Straight Arrows to an energetic evening of slinging arrows. Leading the wins for the home team was a three-way tie between Captain Anita Hopps, Joe Fortune and Tom Ayley, with four wins in six singles. Anita also lead the scores with a 134. Captain Sonja Twamley showed her team just how to win on Tuesday night, winning four of her five singles matches. Mike Beno might have missed a couple doubles in the evening, but he smashed the team scores with a 133 in his winning match against Anita.

Also playing at the Eagles Hall, the Eagles Hall X-Men hosted the QB Legion Shooters to a fast-paced match of 501. Despite not winning any of the doubles, the home team X-Men came out battling and bested four of their five first set opponents. Having no more of that, the Shooters pulled up their flights and got down to serious winning. Leading the wins for the Shooters, Thom Ford and Lee Page bested four of their five opponents. Thom joined Sonja Twamley on the Leader Board with a matching 171 score, putting him at the top of the list for Men’s High Score. X-Men’s Pony Moore lead the wins for the home team, winning four of his five matches. Jim Thompson and Glen Dilworth topped the high scores with a 140 each, and Jim hitting seven 100’s throughout the night.
