Week 20 Dart Recap: Tough Battles Across the Boards
It was a night full of exciting darts action, with many close matches and impressive individual performances. As always, the competition remains fierce in the Parksville Legion darts league!
Deep Bay Consulting Oceanside Triples vs. Eagles Hall Straight Arrows
The match between the Oceanside Triples and the Straight Arrows kicked off at the Parksville Legion, with the home team making a strong start. After dominating the first singles set, the Triples couldn’t maintain the momentum as the Arrows surged ahead in the next five singles sets. Mike Beno, Roy Neil, and Captain Rob Clark led the charge for the Arrows, each claiming four wins. Mike also impressed with a 171 in his match against Denise Tabler, the highest score of the night. On the other side, Keith Reimer was the standout for the Triples, securing five wins and showing his skill. Captain Jim Hood also contributed with a 132 for team high score for the Triples.

Eagles Hall Double Eagles vs. Bashers
At Eagles Hall, the Double Eagles gave it their all but couldn’t topple the Bashers in their intense 33-game match. The Bashers claimed most of the doubles, except in one singles set, and dominated across the board. Anita Hopps was undefeated, winning five of six matches, and teammate Maggi Trenholm contributed with a 129 in her win against Colleen McNeill. For the Double Eagles, Pat Bannister led the charge, winning four of five matches and hitting a 133 in his victory over Michell Gummeson to secure team high score.

His & Hers Salon Darts of Hazzard vs. French Creek Pub Dart Vaders
Over at Eagles Hall, the Darts of Hazzard faced off against the Dart Vaders in an action-packed evening. Despite a strong effort, the Darts of Hazzard couldn’t outpace the Vaders, who dominated almost every set. Ryan Denbigh shone for the Vaders, going undefeated in five games, with a top score of 171 against Harry Van Heerwaarden. Heath Mahoney led the way for Hazzard, winning five of six matches, while teammate Brody Jenkinson added a highlight with a 140 in his win over Vader Ken Ermantrout.

Short Sighted Crew vs. Renegades
The Short Sighted Crew started strong against the Renegades, securing two doubles victories before the Renegades claimed five of the six singles sets. Larry MacDonald was unstoppable for the Renegades, winning all five of his matches. Thom Ford also stole the show with a 171 and 121 in the same game against Peter Bisiker, earning the team’s top score. The Crew’s Don Punter and Mike Runsteadler each claimed three wins, with Don hitting a 133 in his victory over George Wallis.
