A Busy Night on the Boards

Bashers vs. Parksville Legion Short Sighted Crew

The Bashers were back at their home base at the Parksville Legion, hosting the Short Sighted Crew for a full slate of 33 games. The Crew came in hot, grabbing two of the three doubles and then rolling through almost every singles set.

Captain Don Punter and Jeff Rhode led the charge with five wins each, while Peter Bisiker lit up the scoreboard with shots of 100, 113, 121, and 135 — earning him High Scorer of the night.

For the Bashers, Joe Fortune shook off his Caribbean jet lag and still managed three singles wins plus a handful of big scores (100x2, 101, 123). Anita Hopps added a sharp 129 in her match against Kevin Martin.

Final: Bashers 11 – Parksville Legion Short Sighted Crew - 22

Darts of Hazzard vs. Oceanside Triples

Over at the Eagles Hall, the Darts of Hazzard and the Oceanside Triples put on the tightest match of the night. Hazzard came out swinging, sweeping all three doubles. But the Triples weren’t having it — they clawed back to tie things 4–4 after the first singles set.

From there, it was a back‑and‑forth grind all evening. By the time the final set rolled around, the teams were deadlocked at 14–14. The Triples sealed the deal with Mike Blouin earning his fifth straight win, and John Coulter closing out the night with the final point.

Mike finished undefeated, and teammate Rica Reimer topped the scoring with a 120 in doubles. For the Hazzards, John Coulter picked up four singles wins and stacked up scores of 105, 133, and 140. Brody Jenkinson quietly went undefeated in his four singles as well.

Final: His & Hers Salon Darts of Hazzard 16 – Deep Bay Consulting Oceanside Triples 17

Eagles Hall X‑Men vs. Eagles Hall Double Eagles

Also at the Eagles Hall, the X‑Men hosted the Double Eagles and came out strong, taking every set except the last. Captain Todd Burnham and spare Randy Burrows both walked out undefeated after five singles each.

Pony Moore didn’t hit many big numbers, but when he did, he made it count — his lone 140 stood as the High Score of the night.

For the Double Eagles, Karen Bannister picked up three singles wins and added a 119 and 139. Sue Barry didn’t grab a win this week, but she did fire off a 153, putting her right behind Ember Hayes’ 156 on the Women’s High Score board.

Final: Eagles Hall X‑Men 25 – Eagles Hall Double Eagles 8

Renegades vs. Straight Arrows

The Renegades welcomed the Straight Arrows to the Parksville Legion for a match that turned into a battle of the doubles. The home team started strong, taking the doubles and the first three singles sets. The Arrows pushed back late, winning two of the last three sets and forcing the Renegades to work for one of their narrowest wins of the season.

Thom Ford led the Renegades with four singles wins, while George Wallis added a 125 in his match against Rob Clark — who answered with two 140s of his own.

For the Straight Arrows, Mike Beno found the doubles before his opponents in five of six matches and added a 140 to match Clark at the top of the scoring. Shane Ovington also earned his first Leader Board spot with an 82 checkout.

Final: Roto Maxx Renegades 18 – Eagles Hall Straight Arrows 15
