
Week 13 Dart Action
The Qualicum Beach Legion Short Sighted Crew hosted the Toolshed Triples to a fun night of darts. The two teams see-sawed back and forth for lead during the first four sets but a full team push from the home team in the last three sets put them far ahead of their opponents. Leading the wins for the Crew was a tie between Captain Ron Stanley and Steven Eckhart, both doubling out five of their six singles matches. Steven Eckhart shot a 171 to put himself at the top of the Leader Board. Nice darts Steven! Leading the wins for the Triples', Jim Hood took three wins from the Crew. Triple Keith Reimer shot the top score for the team – a 129 in his win against Peter Bisiker. Final score Short Sighted Crew 21 – Toolshed Triples 12.

Playing at the Parksville Legion, the B-Sharps welcomed the San Group Wood Chuckers to thirty-three games of darts. Both teams played their best but the Chuckers pulled ahead in the last set to beat the home team 18 to 15. Leading the wins for the Chuckers, Jim Thompson was unbeatable in his five singles games and topped the team score of the night with a 121. Leading the wins for the B-Sharps was a tie between Arless McNeill and Stan Foster, each winning four of five matches. Neil Selinger topped the scores for the night with a 140.

Livening up the Eagles Hall on Tuesday night, the X-Men met with the Eagles Hall Straight Arrows for a rousing night of fun and darts. Taking the lead early, the Straight Arrows only let the X-Men best them in one set. Leading the wins for the Arrows, John Curtis, Mike Beno and Ron Keast all scored four wins in five singles games. Topping the scoreboard for the Arrows, Mike Beno shot a 133, followed by John Curtis with a 130. Leading the team, and the wins for the X-Men, Captain Todd Burnham won four of his six singles games with team high scores of 125 and 100. Final score Straight Arrows 20 – X-Men 13.

The top two teams in the league met up at the Parksville Legion for thirty three thrilling games of darts. It was a tie half-way through the night, but a big push in the sixth set from the Cascadia Bristle Bashers, put them ahead of the Legion Shooters at the end of the night. Leading the wins for the Bashers, Terry Strawson proved unbeatable in all five singles games. Team mate Warren Potter was right behind him with four wins in five matches. Terry took the high score of the night, shooting a 140 and 100x4. Leading the wins for the home team, Shooter Larry MacDonald, won four of his six singles games. Team mate, Thom Ford, topped the high scores and the high check outs with a 157 and 92 respectively. Final score Cascadia Bristle Bashers 18 – Legion Shooters 15.

Final match of the week was between the Eagles Hall Eagle Eyes and the Qualicum Beach Legion Bulls Hitters. Short staffed, the home team Eagle Eyes, brought their five brightest and best to play against the six Bulls Hitters. Leading the wins for the home team, Tedd Ducker and Mike McNulty, both bested their opponents in five of six matches. Tedd took the top score of the night with a 140. Leading the Bulls Hitters in wins, Bernie Brockway doubled out four of his five games with scores of 121 and 124. Hitter Joe Fortun(ate) shot a 140 and won three singles games. Final score Eagles Hall Eagle Eyes 21 – Legion Bulls Hitters 12.
