Week 17 Dart Action

Meeting at the Eagles Hall, the Toolshed Triples hosted the Cascadia Bristle Bashers to 33 games of darts. Taking all the doubles for themselves, the Bashers stumbled in the first set of singles but quickly regained their form and ran away with the remainder of the wins. Dustin Fee was unbeatable in his six matches, as well as shooting team high score of 135. Leading the wins for the home team, Jim Hood and Darren Tabler were able to take two points each away from the away team. Leslie Rodgers may not have one any points, she did manage to hit the team high score or 134. Final score Cascadia Bristle Bashers 26 – Toolshed Triples 7.

Playing at the Qualicum Beach Legion the Short Sighted Crew hosted the Eagles Hall Eagle Eyes to an evening of tossing arrows. A strong start by the home team put them solidly in the lead of the match and that’s where they stayed despite a last set whitewashing by the Eagle Eyes. Leading the wins for the Crew, Lee Page and Captain Ron Stanley each won five of six singles matches. Ron also topped the scores with a 120x2. Eagle Eye Tedd Ducker doubled out in five of his six games and shot 100x5 throughout the night. High scorer for the Eagle Eyes was Sue Barry with a whopping 132! The third Eagles Hall team was back at home against the Qualicum Beach Legion Bulls Hitters. The Straight Arrows took an early lead, winning two of the three doubles and all but one in the first set of singles, making the Bulls Hitters dig deep to get back into the game. The Hitters did much better through the second half of the singles but it was too late in the match to take over the lead – final score Straight Arrows 18 – Bulls Hitters 15. Leading the wins for the Arrows, Captain Sonja Twamley was successful in five of six matches, followed closely by Mike Beno with four wins. John Curtis won three of six and shot team high score of 116. Topping the wins for the Bulls Hitters, Bernie Brockway had only one defeat in six matches. Supporting Bernie for wins, Angie Kienas and Captain Peter Spinks each won three of their games. Angie also topped the team high score with a 119.
