DISTRICT 69 DARTS ASSOCIATION
2009 ~ 2010 RULES

REGISTRATION

A)  Team sponsorship fee shall be $125.00 for the season.
B)  Completed registration forms must be turned into the secretary by the third Saturday in August.
C)  Only registered dart players shall be able to hold office and vote at meetings of this Association.
D)  Each individual player is required to pay an annual fee of $25.00 paid by the third week of play.


STRUCTURE OF THE LEAGUE


A)  All regular season games shall be registered on game sheet by 7:30pm with play to start by 7:45pm.
B)  The minimum number of players required to play a regular season game is 5.
C)  A match may be postponed for reasons of illness, injury etc... providing the Captain wishing the postponement, should notify the Captain or Vice C of the opposing team by 6 p.m. on the day of the match.
D) Postponed matches shall be re-scheduled by mutual agreement of the two Captains and to be played within 2 weeks of the original match.
E)  Any disputes shall be resolved by the Executive after consulting with all parties involved. The Executive committee decisions will be final.
F)  One or two divisions to be decided at the beginning of the season by the Executive depending on the amount of registered teams.
G)  A match shall consist of the following
3 sets of Doubles consisting of 3 games of 601
5 sets of Singles consisting of 6 games of 501
one point shall be awarded for each game won in a set for a total of 33 points.
H)  Players shall be rotated during the match. Rotation sheet provided.
I)  Away team writes down names on score sheet first and shall rotate players as per rotation sheet provided. J)  A tie in points at the end of the season shall be decided by a count back. The Team with the best Win to Loss record between those tied teams will be placed higher.
K)  Home team players have the choice to shoot for the bull first or second, closest to the bull wins, shoots first in game.
L)  Election of the Executive Officers for the following season shall be done at the Annual General Meeting at the end of the season.
M) In the event of a default of the match, the non-defaulting team will be awarded75% of the available match points and the defaulting team will be awarded zero.
N)  A player, to qualify for MVP, must have played a minimum 75% of the regular season games.
O)  A quorum of the Executive shall be 5 members.
P)  All registered players shall receive a copy of the updated rules at the beginning of the season.
Q)  Perpetual trophies when taken shall be signed out and are the resposibility of the person(s) signing them out.
R)  Replacement players after Christmas, pay $15.00. All replacement players must be passed by Executive.
S)  Players or teams leaving prior to the completion of a match, event or tournament will void all points played and all personal stats for such.


STRUCTURE OF CLUB TEAMS


A)  Only players who have registered for a given team can play for that team.
B)  No player shall play for more than one team in any season other than if "Special Rules" below applies.
C)  No team shall have less than 6 or more than 8 players registered.
D) Players can only change teams during a season if their original team disbands.


SPECIAL RULES AND CONSIDERATIONS


A)  If a team drops out of the league after registration deadline, registration fees will not be refunded. Players still wishing to play will be placed within the league by the Executive.
B)  If a team drops out during the season play, all games by that team shall be voided. Personal stats such as high check, high scores etc... shall be kept and recorded if the player continues in the league.
C)  The Executive has the authority to change any rule if it benefits the league or players, without going to vote with the membership. (Must have an Executive majority vote and Team Captains to pass).
D)  Trophies shall be awarded for each player for First place finishes in each event. There shall be recognition for perfect scores, high check outs and high scores for men and women. MVP will be awarded to the man and woman qualified.
E)  Any default games shall not count for personal stats.
F)  Free lifetime membership in the Association will be awarded to any individual who completes nine (9) dart games of 501.


RULES OF ETIQUETTE


A)  The scorer must face the score board while the player is throwing.
B)  No talking or moving around while a game is in progress as this may distract the shooting player .
C)The player waiting to shoot shall stand at least 2 feet behind the player that is throwing, stating well out of the line of sight.
D)  No practice darts during Live Play. Up to 6 warm up darts are allowed at the start of a live gamw if required.


GAME RULES

(According to District 69 Darts Association)


A)  Standard bristle dart boards which are in good condition shall be used. The height to the centre of the bull shall be 172.75 cm (5 ft. 8 in.) and the minimum throwing distance shall be 236.8 cm (7 ft. 9-1/4 in.), measured horizontally from the face board. The diagonal measurement from the centre of the bull to the toe-line shall be 292.7 cm (9 ft. 7-3/8 in.). The toe-line shall be clearly marked and shall be at least 45.7 cm (18 in. long). Chalk boards for scoring shall be in satisfactory condition so that the figures (scores) are clearly visible.
B)  Boards that do not meet standards shall be reviewed by the Executive regarding future play.
C)  Score keepers may, if asked, tell the shooter the points scored and the remaining score, but shall NOT tell the shooter how to finish the game. A player wishing to discuss a shot with a team member shall step back from the toe-line to do so.


TEAM KNOCKOUT COMPETITION


A)  The competition shall be completed in one evening at a designated location for each division.
B)  Each team must have a minimum 5 players participating and rotating every game.
C)  Each team will nominate 4 players for each of the round robin games on a rotational basis from their team rosters.
D)  An appropriate round robin sheet will be completed by a random draw of team names.
E)  Each match will consist of three games with one point being awarded for each game won. All three games will be played.
F)  Scoring for each game shall be straight start 701 double out finish.
G)  High scores, high checkouts, and perfect scores of 180 shall be recorded in this competition, with separate trophies from league play for both men and women.
H)  All teams registered in the league shall automatically be entered in their respective divisions for this competition.
I   Any ties at the completion of the competition will be broken with a playoff game(s) and teams to decide.
J)  In the event of a playoff (due to a tie), the original rotation basis will be honoured. No substitution of players will be allowed, other than those set to play the next game.


SINGLES COMPETITIONS


A-DIVISION ~ BERNIE'S DARTS                         B-DIVISION ~ BARB HAMILTON


A)  The top 20 players, based on the highest winning percentage in league play, in each division, shall be eligible to play in these competitions.
B)  The finals of each competition shall be a round robin event of 501, straight start, double finish. Ties on the sheet shall be decided by a best two out of three game playoff.
C)  High scores, high checkouts, and perfect scores of 180 shall be recorded in these events. Substitutes shall be allowed for eligible players who are not able to attend by going down the list to the player(s) with the next highest average(s).


SAMSON AND DELILAH SINGLES COMPETITION


A)  Each team shall hold separate round robin playoffs to select two men and two women to represent that team in the finals of this competition.
B)  The two finals shall be round robin events of 501 unless there are more than 20 participants, in which case, an appropriate modified round robin format shall be used with the top 8 players from each sheet moving into the next round of the competition.
C)  High scores, high checkouts, and perfect scores of 180 shall be recorded in these events.
D)  Games won shall not be counted for individual statistics.
E)  Substitutes will be allowed, in the first round only. For eligible players who are not able to attend by going down the team playoff list to the next highest player.
F)  Players competing in these events must register by 6:45 p.m. with play to commence at 7:00 p.m.
G)  Any individual winning the event for 3 consecutive years will be allowed to keep the perpetual trophy, subject to replacement trophy being provided by the sponsor of these events.


FIRST CLASS DOUBLES PLAY


A)  This competition shall be played after regular league play.
B   The event shall run over two consecutive weeks provided more than 20 teams participate during the first round robin portion.
C)  If more than 20 teams participate, the top eight teams from each of the round robin sheets will advance to the second and final week of play.
D)  If 20 teams or less participate, the winners will be declared in one week.
E)  Each league team will be allowed to send 4 players with the highest personal averages at the end of the regular season. Positions one and two shall form one team, positions three and four shall form the second team.
F)  All games shall be 601 straight start, double finish.
G)  Ties shall be decided by best two out of three playoff.
H)  There shall be no gender distinction in this competition.
I)  High scores, high checkouts, and perfect scores shall be recorded for this event.
J)  Substitutes from the same team shall be allowed to play in this competition in the event a designated player is unable to play.


MIXED DOUBLES COMPETITION


A)  Players wishing to play in this event must submit their names to the league secretary, not later than three weeks before the event is scheduled to be played. (Must register as a mixed pair).
B)  The event shall be a blind draw from the names submitted to be paired with a player of the opposite gender.
C)  The format shall be round robin event of 601 straight start, double finish.
D)  Ties shall be decided by best two out of three playoff.
E)  High scores, high checkouts, perfect scores, shall be recorded in this event.
F)  60% rule does not apply to this competition only. All registered players are eligible to play.


SPARE LIST


A)  Spares may qualify for high scores, high check-outs, and 180's.
